With the 72nd NBA season set to begin Tuesday night, let’s recap a little bit of what happened at the end of the season and during the past offseason. The Golden State Warriors used their stacked roster to bully their way to a second championship in the past 3 seasons with Kevin Durant snagging his first championship while also garnering NBA Finals MVP honors. Paul George and Carmelo Anthony both found a new home in Oklahoma City alongside last year’s MVP, Russell Westbrook, while Chris Paul left Los Angeles to form a duo with MVP runner-up, James Harden. While one star left LA, another one may be coming to town after Lonzo Ball was drafted #2 overall in the NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers whom his father stated he would play for well before the draft was even held. In other news, LaMarcus Aldridge and Joel Embiid both signed contract extensions that will leave more people scratching their head than jumping for joy and in the most shocking move of the summer, Kyrie Irving was shipped to the Boston Celtics where he will form a big 3 with Gordon Hayward and Al Horford in hopes to steal the Eastern Conference crown away from his former team (It won’t happen).
